Range of research in the WESSLING laboratory

Soils

According to the Land Code of the Russian Federation, all the lands are divided into categories according to their targeted purpose. Also, in Russia there are sanitary requirements for the quality of soils used for:

  • settlements;
  • farmland;
  • industrial facilities.

Compliance with the sanitary requirements for allocation, design, construction, reconstruction and maintenance of various facilities is mandatory for all legal entities.

We carry out a standard list of studies on chemical and microbiological indicators to determine the presence of certain substances in the soil. For example:

  • heavy metals;
  • Benzo(a)pyrene and petroleum products;
  • pH;
  • total pollution index;
  • Lactose positive colibacillus;
  • enterococcus;
  • pathogenic microorganism;

In addition to standard laboratory parameters tests Wessling laboratory offers a list of additional tests on, for example:

  • volatile organic compounds (VOCs);
  • polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs);
  • surface-active substances (surfactants);
  • elemental composition;
  • phenol and its derivatives;
  • pesticides;
  • indicators of radiation safety.

Today, the popularity of "organic products" produced on ecological farms is growing in Russia. In Europe, the term "organic farm" is clearly formulated at the legislative level to limit the allowable concentrations of potentially hazardous substances. Our laboratory tests the soil of farmlands to ensure the growth of organic products in accordance with European regulations.
